On March 20, at 02:50, on the part of the Azerbaijan-Armenia state border crossing the territory of Zangilan district, the units of the Armenian armed forces fired at the positions of the Border Troops of the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, located at the height of Aghbashiurd, Zangilan district, from their positions located in the direction of the Nerkin-And settlement of Gafan district.

Axar.az reports citing State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan that as a result of the provocation, junior sergeant Manafov Ramin Sübhi, a military employee of the State Border Service, was injured by a shot fired from the other side.

The serviceman was evacuated to a specialized medical institution and underwent surgery, his life is not in danger.

Currently, the operational conditions are stable and under the full control of our units.

The State Border Service assesses this event as another provocation by the Armenian side, and the responsibility for this falls entirely on the Armenian side.
