Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has addressed the participants of the “ADEX-2024” 5th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition and the “Securex Caspian” 14th International Exhibition of Internal Security, Protection, and Rescue Equipment.

"Dear exhibition participants and esteemed guests!

I greet you on the occasion of the opening of the “ADEX-2024” 5th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition. Welcome to Azerbaijan!"

Our country has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to organize prestigious international events at a high level and with great professionalism. Azerbaijan's modern infrastructure and stability in terms of security make it a country that is positively evaluated by the global community for hosting such large-scale and extremely important events. This year's United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29), which is considered one of the world's prestigious international events, is a clear example of this. It can be confidently stated that the "ADEX" exhibition, held for the fifth time, will once again be conducted at a high level, as in previous years. The defense industry also has significant potential in reducing carbon emissions. I believe that “ADEX-2024,” held before COP29, provides a suitable platform for the professional discussion of this topic.

“ADEX” plays a unique role in establishing business connections between recognized military industry enterprises from friendly and allied countries and leading foreign companies. This exhibition provides extensive opportunities to familiarize participants with modern defense technologies and the latest examples of military equipment offered for export in various sectors of the military-industrial complex, as well as to sign new contracts in the field of international military-technical cooperation. Hundreds of globally renowned companies showcase their products at the event. “ADEX” is an important platform for various countries to strengthen their defense and defense industry sectors, enhance production capabilities, implement modern and innovative tools, and exchange experiences.

I would like to emphasize that the strengthening of Azerbaijan's defense capabilities and the assurance of national security receive special attention from the state, and the further development of these areas is a priority direction. In recent years, our country's defense industry has been rapidly developing. In addition to modernizing existing production facilities to meet contemporary standards, successful efforts are being made to establish new production lines. As a result of properly conducted reforms, the variety of defense-related products produced in our country has increased, and today, over 1,000 types of military-related products are manufactured in Azerbaijan. Both the Azerbaijani Armed Forces are equipped with modern weaponry, and defense industry companies from countries around the world are showing keen interest in the products we produce. New collaborations in the defense industry are being established with many friendly and allied states, and existing relationships are being successfully maintained. By achieving dynamic development in the defense industry, Azerbaijan is expanding its military-technical capabilities.

The strength and power of Azerbaijan's military-industrial complex, which played a crucial role in the liberation of our internationally recognized territories from occupation, as well as the modern weapons produced in our country, are showcased at the “ADEX” exhibition. It is no coincidence that the combat experience of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces during both the 44-day Patriotic War and localized counter-terror operations is now being closely studied at military centers in developed countries.

Alongside “ADEX,” the “Securex Caspian” 14th International Exhibition of Internal Security, Protection, and Rescue Equipment is also being held, showcasing prospective models of equipment, complex security systems, and weapons for law enforcement, border security, rescue, firefighting, and intelligence agencies. I am confident that the products displayed at this exhibition will be met with great interest by the participants.
