Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev has met with Deputy Foreign Minister of Colombia Juana Esperanza Castro Santamaria during her visit to Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that Hikmet Hajiyev shared this information on his X account.

“We held fruitful discussions with Ms. Juana Esperanza Castro Santamaria, Deputy Foreign Minister of Colombia during her visit to Azerbaijan. The current level of political dialogue between our countries is encouraging. There is significant potential to expand cooperation in economic and trade, cultural and humanitarian, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.”

He also noted that both Azerbaijan and Colombia are affected by the problem of landmines and said that opportunities for cooperation and exchange of experience in this area were discussed.

Hajiyev further expressed gratitude to the Colombian side for its support in promoting the Spanish language in Azerbaijan.
