Saudi-led coalition intercepts five missiles targeting Riyadh

The Saudi-led coalition said Sunday it intercepted and destroyed two cruise missiles over the Riyadh and southern regions.

Axar.az reports, citing Al Arabiya, coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki al-Malki announced the latest interceptions in a statement posted on X, without specifying who launched the cruise missiles.

Earlier Sunday, al-Malki said air defenses had intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by Yemen’s Houthi militia toward Riyadh.

That announcement came approximately three hours after he reported the interception of another Houthi ballistic missile targeting the Eastern Region.

The coalition also reported intercepting and destroying a drone launched by the Houthis toward Saudi Arabia’s southern region on Sunday, according to a separate statement by al-Malki on X.
