Ocampo campaign targeted Azerbaijan and Armenia - Video

European politics continues to “hit rock bottom.” Minval Politika has obtained truly sensational video footage showing the activities of the Armenian lobby in European institutions and rampant corruption within the EU’s top leadership.

Axar.az informs that the videos feature former International Criminal Court prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo and his son Thomas, where both speak quite openly about their goals and the tools to achieve them.

There is hardly any need to explain to an Azerbaijani audience who Luis Ocampo is. An Argentine citizen and former prosecutor who left his post amid a major scandal, he has in recent years turned into a paid lobbyist for Armenian interests. To fulfill the demands of his new sponsors, this figure is ready for anything — including spreading outright fakes and playing on xenophobia and Islamophobia. His shady "activities" have been widely exposed before.

But now the scandal surrounding the former prosecutor has taken on new dimensions. Ocampo’s son openly says in conversation: “What we need to achieve is to remove Pashinyan, the prime minister.”

Even more interesting are Ocampo’s own remarks. Without any hesitation, he says:

Luis Moreno Ocampo: If I have a company that deals with these kinds of things, we can do it at a very competitive price because, for example, right now I have a very capable guy on staff who used to be a member of the European Parliament. He worked as a legal adviser…

Unknown interlocutor: Borrell? And the commissioner… huh?
Unknown interlocutor: Borrell? No?

Luis Moreno Ocampo: That very Borrell. So this guy is now working for me in the European Parliament. And there, in the European Parliament, I can appeal, challenge things, submit questions, and put pressure on Commissioner von der Leyen, and in that way influence European policy.

And on top of that, something new is happening — something I wasn’t aware of. Completely new: there is a case being considered in the European Court to force the Commission to terminate its contract with Azerbaijan. Because the clause requiring Azerbaijan to respect human rights is something it does not comply with.

So I am discovering this new space… and why is it important now? The European Union matters right now because Trump is already clearing the path. We are moving along an already prepared road. We are increasing pressure, and I intend to do this together with the Armenian lobby in the United States. So we have entered that space and pushed something that is much more feasible. I don’t need to break down a wall — the door is already open, and we are just unlocking it.

Thomas Moreno Ocampo (his son): No, what we did was organize people so they understand: “Look, this is what’s happening.” To help them understand what’s going on. And we keep doing that to this day. For example, there was a meeting today — a meeting with activists, businesspeople, and people working on this issue, on the whole situation with Armenians. With Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh. And one of them, a young woman, is running a social media campaign, because there is a lot of turmoil in Armenia right now. Real chaos because of internal disputes over the elections. So: “No, what we need to achieve is to remove Pashinyan,” the prime minister.

Unknown interlocutor: The president?

Thomas Moreno Ocampo: “We need to remove him.”

Ocampo’s plans are ambitious: acting through the European Court, he aims to force the European Commission to terminate its contract with Azerbaijan and to further increase pressure, working in coordination with the Armenian lobby in the United States. The main lever here, it appears, is the exploitation of “human rights” narratives.

This is where things become particularly interesting. In essence, it concerns serious interference in Armenia’s internal affairs and attempts to undermine regional peace and security. To put it plainly, Luis Ocampo, with financial backing and at the behest of the Armenian lobby, has launched a campaign against regional peace and against Azerbaijan, involving European politicians and Armenian oligarchs based in Russia.

Moreover, one of the key figures in this campaign led by Ocampo was former EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell and his circle. "Minaval Politika" editorial team also has information about the involvement of other members of the European Parliament and senior EU officials.

The campaign was mainly financed by Armenian oligarchs based in Russia, including Samvel Karapetyan, Ruben Vardanyan, and others. It is particularly notable that in the video, Ocampo’s son directly discusses the political situation in Armenia and plans to overthrow the prime minister. It appears that Ocampo, Borrell, and others were at the center of a scenario aimed at changing power in Armenia, including the removal of Nikol Pashinyan, with the participation of Russia, and through a campaign in Europe and the European Parliament funded by corrupt Russian money.

And this is not an isolated case. The EU sent a group to Armenia some time ago to counter hybrid threats. Interestingly, it appears that institutions such as the European Parliament itself may have played a significant role in creating these very threats. Moreover, the wording and narratives of the relevant European Parliament resolution closely mirror Russian rhetoric and narratives from Moscow.

Frankly speaking, the level of corruption within European institutions is no secret. It is also well known whom Borrell has served and continues to serve. But now new, sensational names and details are emerging from the materials presented.

Finally, the most important point: in an era where any exposé is often dismissed as “deepfakes” or AI-generated content, this issue is addressed upfront — the video materials we present are authentic and have not been manipulated using artificial intelligence. We understand the doubts that may arise among audiences, which is why we emphasize this clearly: these are real recordings, not the product of digital manipulation.

Why have the European Parliament, the European Commission, and Belgian intelligence services not yet investigated possible corruption cases? And will they investigate at all?

This is precisely the kind of case that calls for a swift and full investigation. Belgian intelligence services should examine the activities of the individuals in question within the European Parliament and uncover possible corruption schemes involving Borrell, Ocampo, and others. It would also be important for Armenian media to examine the issue domestically in order to counter hybrid threats. There is no doubt that the global audience should expect further scandals and investigations in the European Parliament on this matter.

The activities of Ocampo and his network, including the Armenian lobby and bribed European politicians, clearly show that their actions are not directed only against Baku. Yerevan and the fragile regional balance are also affected. In short, this is an attempt to derail the peace process and push the situation back toward a scenario of controlled destabilization.
