As a result of the phased and coordinated measures taken by the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 23 citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan (7 women and 16 children) were repatriated from the Syrian Arab Republic to our country on June 7, 9 and 11 of this year.
Axar.az reports, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the initial stage of the repatriation process, the location, identity and citizenship of the repatriates of the Republic of Azerbaijan were determined.
The Embassies of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Syrian Arab Republic and the Republic of Turkiye, as well as the Consulate General in Istanbul, carried out relevant coordination work, and our citizens were provided with “certificates of return to the Republic of Azerbaijan” and plane tickets.
Members of the Working Group, consisting of state agencies responsible for the repatriation of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan facing a crisis situation in foreign countries, were sent to Syria, and the initial medical and psychological examination of the repatriates was carried out.
It is planned to implement appropriate measures in the direction of social rehabilitation and reintegration of the repatriates into society in our country.
Necessary measures will continue to be taken for the repatriation of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have become victims of armed conflict in foreign countries.
