Azerbaijan's Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Sabina Aliyeva informed Professor Aslan Abashidze about the situation in the region in a meeting with the member of the Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee of the United Nations (UN).

It was reported that during the meeting, the guest was informed about the mandate of the Ombudsman, his activities in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms. It was stated that international cooperation is of great importance in the operation of the facility, and it was pointed out that there are close cooperation relations with the ombudsman and national human rights institutions of foreign countries, international organizations, including the UN and its specialized agencies.
