EBU announces major Eurovision voting rule changes

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has announced major changes to the voting rules for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Axar.az reports that this was announced in an official statement by the EBU.

It is noted that the innovations will come into force from 2026. According to the information, the innovations aim to increase trust, strengthen transparency, and refocus attention on music, that is, away from external influences and information manipulation.

The main changes will be as follows:

- The rules for providing advertising support to participants will be tightened;

- The maximum number of votes from one phone number will be reduced from 20 to 10;

- There will be a professional jury in the semi-finals;

- The EBU will strengthen automatic mechanisms for tracking suspicious voting patterns.
