Adele fans gather at Wembley to sing for sick star

Although they won’t be hearing Adele sing tonight, her devoted fans have gathered at Wembley Stadium to show their support for the sick songstress.

Axar.az reports citing Daily Express.

After launching the #SingForAdele hashtag, her supporters, who call themselves the Daydreamers, launched a movement to have a sing-song in her honour.

Meeting outside the enormous concert venue at the time they should have been listening to the Hello hitmaker, the fans decided to perform their own rendition of the track.

One post on social media urging fans to participate said: “Adele can’t sing for us but we can sing for her.”

Many tweets in support of the sing-a-long commented that they found the gesture touching.

This comes after Adele cancelled her final two shows at Wembley on advice from her doctor after damaging her vocal chords.

In a statement she said: “I don’t even know how to start this.

“The last two nights at Wembley have been the biggest and best shows of my life.

“To come home to such a response after so long away doing something I never thought I could pull off but did has blown me away."

The international megastar went on to admit over the course of her sold-out Wembley shows she had struggled with her vocal chords, having to constantly clear her throat during her performances.

She added: “To say I’m heartbroken would be a complete understatement.

“I’m already maxed out on steroids and aids for my voice.

“I’ve considered doing Saturday night’s show but it’s highly unlikely I’d even make it through the set and I simply can’t crumble in front of you all and walk out on you in that way,” the 29-year-old explained.
