Alec Baldwin thanks President Trump after winning Emmy

Alec Baldwin began his Emmys acceptance speech with a nod to his inspiration: President Trump.

Axar.az reports that the actor won outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series for his role as the President on “Saturday Night Live.

“At long last, Mr. President, here is your Emmy.”

Host Stephen Colbert spent most of his opening monologue bashing Trump and blaming his presidency on a lack of Emmys.

But Baldwin almost immediately veered away from the man who made him famous again and instead focused on thanking his family and cast.

“When you die, you don’t remember a bill that congress passed or a decision the Supreme Court made or an address made by the President. You remember a song, you remember a line from a movie, you remember a play, you remember a book, a painting, a poem,” he said.

“What we do is important and for all of you out there in motion pictures and television, don't stop doing what you are doing, the audience is counting on you.”
