Lady Gaga's Golden Globes acceptance speech for Best Original Song has viewers confused – as co-writer Mark Ronson did most of the speaking.

Axar.az reports citing Independent.

After Taylor Swift announced Gaga as the winner of the award for "Shallow" from A Star is Born, the singer began to cry as she took the stage alongside Ronson.

Ronson took the moment to accept the award on the team's behalf, which also included Andrew Wyatt and Anthony Rossomando.

However, it was when Ronson suggested that Gaga was unable to speak because she was "indisposed" that has provoked a backlash from viewers, who have accused Ronson of seizing the spotlight.

Once Ronson had concluded his speech, Gaga took the opportunity to address the difficulties of being a "woman in music."

"As a woman in music, it is really hard to be taken seriously as a singer and a songwriter and these... incredible men, they lifted me up and they supported me," she said.

The A Star is Born soundtrack debuted at number one on the Billboard chart, which made Gaga the first female artist to have five albums debut at number one this decade.

During the red carpet for the 2019 Golden Globes, Gaga reflected on the song-writing process for "Shallow", which she recalled was a "very brave moment".

"The song really became a communication between men and women," she said, according to Billboard. "Can I talk with you and will you listen?"

Gaga is also nominated for Best Actress for her role as Ally in the film, an aspiring singer-songwriter.
