This is the moment a little girl reached out to stroke the Duchess of Cambridge's hair during a meet and greet in Dundee.

The youngster couldn't resist touching Kate's locks as she and William met a crowd of schoolchildren outside the city's Crescent Community Centre amid chilly 2°C temperatures.

Wrapped up warm in a tartan Alexander McQueen coat and green scarf, the Duchess was all smiles despite the chilly temperatures as she joined her husband for their first joint engagement of the year.

The establishment of the new museum was made possible thanks to a collaboration between the V&A, the University of Dundee, Abertay University, Dundee City Council, the UK and Scottish governments, the National Lottery and Scottish Enterprise.

After meeting crowds outside the V&A - and putting on scarves to guard against the cold - the couple travelled to the Crescent Community Centre in Dundee, where they were met by the Lord Provost Ian Borthwick, local Councillor John Alexander and centre staff.

There, they met with employees and their families from the Dundee Michelin factory, to hear first-hand how the factory's planned closure is affecting them.

Following these discussions, Kate and William will attend the Michelin Action Group, which is aiming to find and take forward solutions for repurposing the plant and providing a sustainable future for its skilled workforce.

The Duke will thank the action group for its dedicated work to date, and will highlight what has already been achieved elsewhere in the city thanks to different communities working as a collective.
