Katy Perry was booed by fans after she slated a contestant's outfit during a recent episode of American Idol.

Axar.az reports that it looks like the pop star's every move is under the microscope at the minute following the controversy around her comments to American Idol contestant Sara Beth Liebe recently.

During Monday's (17 April) show, Nutsa took to the stage as she looked to make it through to the next round.

Now, while the usual way of things is for the judges to critique the singer's performance, Perry leaned into her current villain status.

Despite belting out an impressive rendition of 'Paris (Ooh La La)' by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Perry took aim at the 25-year-old's choice of clothes.

Once the performance ended, Perry commented: "Nutsa, every time you take the stage, it's like you glitter bomb the stage.

"Listen, I think one thing I personally would like to see from you is not one piece of glitter the next time. I know that's gonna be hard."
