A declaration of intent on the establishment of the Turkish World Film Directors Union (TURKFILM) was signed in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

Axar.az reports that the document was signed with the participation of officials from Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and TURKSOY at an event organized by the International Organization of Turkish Culture (TURKSOY).

It was noted that the main purpose of creating the association is to support topics that the interested parties of the Turkish film industry may need, to promote the production of works that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Turkish world, to strengthen the unity and brotherhood of the Turkish people, to exchange existing knowledge and experiences in the field of cinema, in this way to ensure social, cultural and economic development.

It should be noted that our country was represented at the event by Orkhan Fikretoglu, acting director general of the Azerbaijan Film Agency.
