Romania will not participate in this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

Axar.az reports that the Administrative Council of Romanian Television released information about this.

The reason for this is that Romania does not have enough funds to ensure its participation in international competition according to higher standards.

It is noted that Romania has been participating in the competition since 1993. In 2016, the country was not allowed to participate in the competition because the national television owed money to the European Broadcasting Union.

This year's "Eurovision" competition will be held on May 7, 9 and 11 in Malmo, Sweden.
