The famous American TV presenter Phil Donahue, who hosted televsion bridges between the USA and the USSR, has died.

Axar.az reports that his family informed about this.

Donahue died at the age of 89.

It should be noted that Donahue was the host of the TV bridge between the USSR and the USA with the Russian journalist Vladimir Posner. At the same time, he made history as the first foreign journalist to visit the area after the accident at the Chernobyl NPP in 1986.
