A major fire has broken out at a warehouse in the Lokbatan settlement of Qaradagh District, Baku.

Axar.az reports that fire crews from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan State Fire Protection Service have been deployed to the scene.

Police are taking necessary measures to ensure residents are evacuated safely and to allow firefighting and rescue teams to operate without obstruction.

The firefighting operation is still underway.

The fire at the warehouse in Lokbatan has been brought under control, preventing it from spreading to a wider area.

The information was released by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan.

Operations are currently ongoing to fully extinguish the fire.

Deputy Head of the State Fire Protection Service, Colonel Taleh Babayev, told reporters that 190 personnel, around 40 units of equipment, and 2 helicopters from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan have been deployed to the scene.

He said the blaze was intensified by strong winds, but firefighters managed to prevent it from spreading to nearby warehouses. Firefighting efforts are still ongoing.
