Within the framework of the 13th session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13), Dharambeer Gokhool, President of the Republic of Mauritius, visited Icherisheher.

Axar.az reports that during the introductory tour held together with Rufat Mahmud, the distinguished guest closely explored the Maiden Tower, the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, the Bukhara Caravanserai, and other historical and architectural monuments.

As part of the visit, the delegation was provided with detailed information about Icherisheher’s place on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the efforts undertaken to preserve and sustain its historical and cultural heritage, as well as cooperation initiatives with the local community and artisans.
