City Activity programme held during WUF13 - Video

To mark the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) taking place in Baku, a City Activity programme was organised for guests attending WUF13 and residents of the capital.

Axar.az informs that running from 20 to 22 May, the City Activity Programme is bringing a vibrant series of public events and interactive experiences to three locations across the capital: the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve, the area surrounding the Clock Tower at Seaside National Park, and the vicinity of Deniz Mall.

From 13:00 each day, visitors can explore the City Activity kiosks showcasing a variety of products presented by Azerbaijani companies. Activities taking place at Seaside National Park will continue until 21:00.

On 20 May, alongside the City Activity Programme held within the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve until 18:00, visitors and residents were also able to enjoy a live music programme featuring performances by singer Arastun Guliyev and Gaga Band.

On 21 May, the evening programme in Icherisheher will feature approximately 20 dance performances. At Baku Boulevard, performances by singer Arif Nematov and Ayna Band are scheduled between 19:00 and 21:00.

The evening programme on 22 May in Icherisheher is set to feature performances by Joseph Abbas, Naz Girls, and Telman Budagov.

In addition, a dedicated football pitch has been set up near Deniz Mall with the support of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) to highlight the important role of sport in urban planning under the WUF13 theme “Cities as playing fields.”

Operating from 15:00 to 19:00 across the three-day programme, the pitch offers residents and visitors an opportunity to engage in sports activities within an open urban setting.

WUF13, held in Baku from 17 to 22 May, is dedicated to the theme “Housing the world: Safe and resilient cities and communities.”
