US President Donald Trump has imposed a 25 percent tariff on India.

Axar.az reports that Trump posted this information on his “Truth Social” account.

He noted that the decision will take effect on August 1:

"India is our friend. However, for many years, our trade relations with India have developed relatively poorly because of the very high tariffs that this country applies. India buys most of its military equipment from Russia and, along with China, is one of the main buyers of Russian energy. This is a worrying situation. That is why India will be subject to a 25 percent tariff starting August 1," Trump said.
