A passenger tried to open the door of a Saudia airlines flight as it landed, Saudi Arabia’s National Transport Safety Center said in a statement Saturday, adding that it is following up on the incident.
Axar.az reports, Al Arabiya, the center revealed that Saudia flight SV119 heading to London’s Heathrow Airport from Jeddah last week witnessed an attempt by a passenger to move the plane’s door handle as the plane was taxiing down the runway after landing.
“The crew managed to [push] the passenger away from the plane’s door and his safety and that of the remaining passengers was secured,” the center said adding that the passenger in question is believed to suffer from a health condition.
“The center is currently completing its coordination with Saudia and the relevant British authorities to follow up on the details of the incident.”
