Car explodes in Damascus, no casualties

An explosive device planted inside an old car exploded this evening in the Mezzeh area of Damascus, causing no injuries.

Axar.az informs, citing SANA, Commander of the Internal Security Forces in Damascus Governorate, Brigadier General Osama Mohammad Khair Atikah, said in a statement on Saturday that the explosion was caused by an explosive device planted inside an old Austin car that had been parked for a long time. No human or material damage was reported.

Atikah added that field teams are continuing their work at the site of the explosion, while specialized units are combing the area to ensure the safety of citizens and prevent any potential acts of sabotage.
