Tokayev and Putin discuss Alaska summit

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Axar.az informs Tokayev congratulated his Russian counterpart on the outcome of his meeting with Donald Trump in Anchorage.

Tokayev said the talks helped the U.S. better understand Russia’s position on Ukraine, which could help identify common ground on this complex issue.

He described the Alaska summit as a breakthrough for strengthening Russia’s international standing and promoting mutual understanding on the global stage.

Putin, in turn, briefed Tokayev on specific aspects of the Alaska talks.
