Terrorist attacks targeting Jewish religious sites in Krasnoyarsk and Pyatigorsk, planned by supporters of an international terrorist organization, have been prevented.
Axar.az informs, citing TASS, in Krasnoyarsk, two Central Asian nationals were detained while preparing to detonate an improvised explosive device in a city synagogue.
In Pyatigorsk, a Russian citizen was arrested for planning to throw bottles with incendiary mixture at the building of the Jewish Religious Community.
Authorities also seized two knives and communication devices containing correspondence with a foreign coordinator on Telegram.
In Krasnoyarsk, the terrorists had set up a cache in an abandoned building containing explosive components and shrapnel.
The FSB noted that the attacks were being planned under the pretext of defending the interests of Palestinian citizens. In reality, the terrorists aimed to incite interethnic hatred and provoke mass unrest across Russia, similar to the events in Dagestan in October 2023, which were coordinated via Telegram from abroad.
