EU backs the Iranian people’s right to protest

The European Union supports the right of the Iranian people to fight for a better life, freedom, and dignity through legitimate means.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the European Union's chief diplomat, Kaja Kallas.

She noted that the European Union is closely following the events and is deeply concerned by the spread of news about the victims.

Kallas said that she strongly condemns the use of violence, illegal detention, and intimidation tactics against protesters.

According to her, Iran must adhere to its international obligations and respect the rights to freedom of expression, association, peaceful demonstration, and access to information via the Internet.
