US team lands in Pakistan ahead of second phase of talks

Preparations are underway in Islamabad for the second phase of US–Iran talks, with authorities tightening security ahead of the arrival of foreign delegations.

Axar.az reports, citing Pakistani media, an advance team from the United States has already arrived in Pakistan as preparations intensify for the next round of negotiations between US and Iranian delegations.

Security in Islamabad and Rawalpindi has been significantly strengthened, with the Red Zone and Extended Red Zone sealed off for all traffic until further notice due to the movement of foreign delegations.

Authorities have also suspended public and goods transport in the twin cities, while heightened security measures include the deployment of more than 10,000 police officers and personnel across the region.

Special units, including Elite Commandos, snipers, and rapid response teams, have been deployed, while search operations, checkpoints, and surveillance have been intensified across key locations.

The talks are expected to take place in Islamabad next week.
