King Charles to visit U.S. as planned, Palace says

Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the planned state visit by King Charles III and Queen Camilla to the United States will go ahead as scheduled, despite a recent shooting incident in Washington.

Axar.az reports, citing Reuters, a Palace spokesperson stated that: “Following discussions on both sides of the Atlantic through the day, and acting on advice of government, we can confirm the state visit by their majesties will proceed as planned."

The four-day visit is expected to begin as scheduled, with officials coordinating closely on security arrangements after the incident, which took place at an event attended by U.S. President Donald Trump.

“The king and queen are most grateful to all those who have worked at pace to ensure this remains the case and are looking forward to the visit getting underway tomorrow,” the spokesperson added.

The decision signals confidence from both governments that conditions remain suitable for the high-profile diplomatic visit.
