Merz won't attend EPC summit in Yerevan

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will not attend the European Political Community summit in Armenia on May 4.

Axar.az informs, citing DPA, the gathering in Yerevan will, for the first time, take place without the German chancellor in attendance.

"The chancellor cannot undertake the trip on account of other obligations," a government spokeswoman told dpa on Saturday.

She added that Merz has taken part in two of the EPC’s eight summits so far and remains in regular contact with many of the group’s roughly 50 participants.
