Iran foreign minister meets Chinese counterpart

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on Wednesday during a diplomatic visit.

Axar.az reports, citing Tasnim, the visit marks Araghchi’s first trip to China since the outbreak of the US-Israeli war of aggression on February 28, although the two foreign ministers have remained in close contact through several telephone conversations.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on regional security developments, the consequences of foreign military escalation in West Asia, and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.

China has repeatedly stressed the need for respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran while criticizing destabilizing military actions in the region. Beijing has also called for diplomatic solutions to conflicts.
