Explosion at MOL plant in Tiszaujvaros kills one -

An explosion occurred this morning at MOL’s Olefin-1 hazardous facility in Tiszaujvaros, Hungary, during a restart following maintenance work.

Axar.az informs that this information was released by the Hungarian Prime Minister, Peter Magyar, on his Facebook account.

According to preliminary reports, one person has been killed and seven others have suffered serious burn injuries.

Firefighting operations are ongoing at the site. A flare-like fire is currently burning on a damaged pipeline. The Disaster Management Mobile Laboratory has arrived at the scene and is carrying out measurements; so far, no hazardous substance concentrations above permitted limits have been detected.
