United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed familiarized herself with the activities of the ASAN Service Center.
Axar.az reports that Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ulvi Mehdiyev, provided the guest with detailed information about the agency's various areas of activity, including the ASAN Service centers established at the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, as well as projects implemented in the field of social innovation.
It was also emphasized that the State Agency received the UN Public Service Award in 2015, a special UN award for advancing public services through digital governance in 2019, and in 2023 was honored with a special distinction under the Global Government Excellence Award program after being recognized as the World"s Most Advanced Public Service. It was further noted that the ASAN Service model has been successfully implemented in various countries.
Special attention was drawn to the importance of the Contribution Agreement signed between the Government of Azerbaijan and the United Nations. Under the agreement, innovations in public service delivery based on the ASAN Service model will be introduced in UN member states, alongside efforts to strengthen relevant institutional capacities.
