Russia recalls ambassador to Armenia for consultations

Russia’s ambassador to Armenia has been recalled to Moscow for consultations.

Axar.az reports, citing the Russian Foreign Ministry, that the move is linked to Yerevan’s steps toward closer cooperation with the European Union.

According to the statement, Armenia’s rapprochement with the EU negatively affects cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

The ministry added that the process is damaging mutual interaction within the EAEU framework.
