Axar.az reports that according to the lawsuit published on the Datalex judicial portal, Karapetyan’s legal team is asking the court to compel Simonyan to retract “false and damaging” statements made on social media on May 19, 2026.

The claim also seeks 6 million drams in damages for defamation, as well as reimbursement of legal costs.

It was previously reported that Karapetyan had also filed a lawsuit against the ruling Civil Contract party of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Armenia’s Public Television (OTA), demanding a retraction of allegedly defamatory statements made against him.
