Poll puts Pashinyan’s approval at 65% ahead of vote -

A poll conducted one week before Armenia’s elections has surprised many observers.

Axar.az reports that the survey was carried out by the political analytics platform Europe Elects.

According to the results, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has seen his approval rating rise to 65%, representing a 41-percentage-point increase since February.

The survey found that none of Pashinyan’s main rivals managed to surpass 12% support.

The election is scheduled to take place on June 7.

The report also notes that Russia has recently increased pressure around issues related to the Eurasian Economic Union, including recalling its ambassador to Armenia for consultations. According to the article, the inability of pro-Russian forces to gain significant support, alongside Pashinyan’s rising popularity, has contributed to tensions between Yerevan and Moscow.
