Kuwait temporarily closes airspace after UAV attack

Kuwait suspended air traffic on Wednesday after Iranian missile and drone strikes hit Terminal One at Kuwait International Airport, causing casualties and damage to airport facilities, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said.

Axar.az reports that , citing KUNA, DGCA spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi said the authority had activated the airport’s emergency plan following the attack and was implementing security and technical measures to ensure the safety of passengers and staff while securing airport infrastructure.

Air traffic was suspended and flights were diverted to nearby airports until further notice, Al-Rajhi said. He added that the suspension would remain in place while authorities assessed the damage and carried out the necessary repairs to restore operations.

Technical teams were evaluating the extent of the damage before beginning repair work, he said
