American journalist asked Putin for Russian citizenship

American journalist Christopher Helali, who previously visited the site of an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Starobilsk, said on June 4 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) that he wants to obtain Russian citizenship.

Axar.az informs, citing Russian media, that he has sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the request.

“Yes, of course. I am considering the possibility of obtaining Russian citizenship. I have sent a letter to President Vladimir Putin and hope to become a Russian citizen in the coming months,” he said.
