Turkiye has not handed over to Sweden the list of persons to be extradited to Ankara to confirm its NATO membership.

Axar.az reports that the "Wall Street Journal" reported on this with reference to a high-ranking Swedish official.

"Sweden has not received a list of names from Turkiye and does not know who these people are. The tripartite security memorandum signed by Turkiye, Sweden and Finland last year did not specify the number of Kurds to be deported or extradited.

The source noted that if the situation does not change in the near future, Sweden is unlikely to join NATO until the summit of the alliance to be held in Vilnius in July.

It should be recalled that at the beginning of March, the President of Turkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, stated that Sweden refused to hand over 120 terrorists to Ankara, despite the fact that the list was given to Stockholm.
