Yevgenia Gutsul, the head of the Gagauz Autonomy of Moldova, said that she sued the country's President Maia Sandu for insulting statements about the autonomy and its head.

Axar.az reports that he spread information about this on the Telegram channel.

"So far I have ignored this lie and slander by citizen Sandu, but today he has crossed all boundaries. I demand that he answer before the law. "Our lawyers will immediately file a defamation suit against citizen Maya Sandu due to the lies and slanders spread at the press conference on March 18, 2023," Gutsul said.

He recalled that he was democratically elected and confirmed as the head of the autonomy, and the results of the election were recognized by all legal bodies of Moldova:

"Prosecutors and special services managed by Sandu did not even challenge the course of the election campaign or the results of the vote in court. All that remains from Sandu are baseless accusations, insults, envy and attacks."

It should be noted that Sandu said at his press conference that he will not sign the decree appointing Gutsulu as a member of the government: "Because he works in a criminal group."
