The European Union was aware of Iran's expected retaliatory strike against Israel in advance.
Axar.az reports that this was said by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.
"We were warned a few days before the strike," he said.
Borrell did not specify where he got the information about the preparation of the attack.
The EU representative noted that after the attack on Israel, Iran's Foreign Minister Abdullahian told him that only military targets were struck and explained that it was a controlled response:
"If Tehran wanted to cause serious damage, it would not have sent an anti-aircraft missile that travelled for about 6 hours to reach its targets in Israel. But this is in no way an excuse for an attack or diminishes its importance."
