Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi threatened that any action against Tehran's interests would be met with a terrible response.
Axar.az reports that he said this during a telephone conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Sani.
"The operation of punishing the aggressor was successfully carried out. "We now firmly declare that even the smallest step against Iran's interests will certainly be met with a terrible, far-reaching and painful response," he said.
The Iranian president noted that the UN Security Council and international organizations did not fulfil their minimum legal obligations to condemn Israel's attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus. Therefore, according to the right of self-defence provided for in Article 51 of the UN Charter, Iran attacked the "same centres where malicious acts were committed" against the country.
The Emir of Qatar highly appreciated the preparation and implementation of Iran's countermeasures against Israel, saying that this step contains a clear message for everyone.
