The Caribbean island nation of Barbados has recognized Palestine as a state.

Axar.az reports that Kerry Simmonds, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Barbados, announced this.

"We have always supported the resolution of the conflict within the framework of the two-state principle under the UN. But we did not recognize Palestine as a state, despite what we told the world. There was an inconsistency. How could we demand a two-state solution when we do not recognize Palestine as a state? Therefore, the administration of Barbados has decided to recognize Palestine as a state," said the minister.
