The world's fastest Internet has been tested in Japan: the device, developed by the Consortium of Telecommunications Companies, supports the high-speed 6G data transfer standard, which is 500 times faster than 5G. According to LiveScience, during the tests, it was possible to achieve an impressive Internet speed of 100 Gbps at a distance of about 90 meters between the receiver and transmitter.

Axar.az reports that a speed of 100 Gbps allows you to transfer approximately five movies in HD resolution in one second. This speed is indeed 500 times higher than the 5G connection speed on smartphones on the T-Mobile network in the US

The device was tested at an altitude of 100 meters indoors and outdoors. In the first case, the frequency range was 100 GHz, and in the second, 300 GHz.

5G, introduced in 2019, is a modern wireless communication standard that provides significant data transfer speeds. The average 5G connection speed on T-Mobile's network in the US is about 204.9 Mbps, but the theoretical maximum speed of 5G reaches 10 Gbps. However, scientists are already working on developing 6G, which promises to improve internet connections in the future significantly. This technology is expected to be available in some countries only by the early 2030s.

The main difference between 5G and 6G is the frequency bands of the electromagnetic spectrum they operate. Operating in higher frequency bands typically provides much higher data rates.
