Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany was taken for medical treatment on Friday after collapsing while watching the club’s reserve team train.

Axar.az reports, citing an official statement from Bayern Munich, that Kompany is undergoing detailed examinations in hospital and will remain under medical supervision.

Until further notice, his coaching staff will oversee the first team’s training sessions and matches.

“Vincent Kompany’s health is our highest priority. At Bayern, we will do everything we can to help him recover quickly,” the club’s board member for sport, Max Eberl, said.

He added that Kompany was receiving all necessary medical care and support and would be given as much time as needed to recover.
