PSG-Lyon Ligue 1 match postponed amid Paris protests

Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 home match against Lyon has been postponed from Sunday to Monday due to violent protests in Paris.

Axar.az reports, citing France24, that the French Professional Football League (LFP) rescheduled the match following a police request.

“The LFP takes note of the police decree prohibiting the staging of the game between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday at 8:45 pm (1945 GMT) ... and has decided to reschedule the match for Monday at 8:30 pm,” the league said in a statement.

French authorities are deploying additional security forces across the country amid concerns over further violence during another weekend of protests.

After seven rounds, both teams have 14 points. Lyon lead the standings, while PSG sit in second place.
