Apple has unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, featuring a new variable-aperture camera system, improved battery life, faster performance, and upgraded AI capabilities.

Axar.az reports, citing Apple Inc, that the new models are equipped with a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, allowing users to manually adjust aperture settings and control depth of field and exposure. Apple has also introduced new Pro controls for shutter speed, white balance, and exposure monitoring.

Both models are powered by the new A20 Pro chip, which Apple says delivers up to 40% faster GPU performance than the previous generation and twice the AI processing power. A redesigned vapor chamber is also designed to improve sustained performance.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max offers up to 45 hours of video playback, while both models feature an upgraded Dynamic Island capable of displaying three Live Activities simultaneously.

Apple has also introduced Apple Reference Image, which uses signed sensor data to create an unalterable reference image that can help verify whether a photograph has been edited.

The phones will be available in black, silver, glacier and burgundy. Pre-orders begin September 12, with sales starting September 18. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299 in the US.
