The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (MFA) noted the need to implement tripartite agreements between Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia, including the peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan, the opening of transport communications in the region, and the delimitation of the Azerbaijan-Armenia border.
Axar.az reports that this was stated in the information given to the media about the meeting of the RF MFA board on "Development of Russian interests in the South Caucasus".
It was noted that the priority for Russia was and still is the provision of stability, security, and prosperity in the South Caucasus. It was emphasized that it is necessary to continue to achieve the full implementation of tripartite agreements between Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia, including the peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan, the opening of transport communications in the region, and the delimitation of the Azerbaijan-Armenia border.
During the meeting, the problems of strengthening the coordination and self-sufficiency of the region were considered, first of all, from the point of view of the interests of the regions to be solved by themselves without foreign interference. In this context, the special importance of using the potential of the "3+3" (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia Iran, Russia, Turkiye) Regional Consultation Platform was emphasized. It is planned to take practical steps in this direction.
