The US gives every guarantee that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon.
Axar.az reports that US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said this in response to the speech of Ali Khamenei's adviser Kamal Kharrazi on the possibility of changing Iran's nuclear doctrine.
Calling the statement of Khamenei's adviser irresponsible, Miller said that Washington is interested in solving the problem through diplomacy:
"As the US president and secretary of state said, all options are on the table. The United States is using all means to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Considering the intensification of Iranian leaders' activities around the world, including their non-cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, we are now far from diplomacy."
It should be noted that Kamal Kharrazi, adviser on international affairs of Iran's religious leader Ali Khamenei, said in an interview with Qatar's "Al-Jazeera" TV channel that Iran has the power to acquire nuclear weapons and that in case of a military attack by Israel on nuclear facilities in Iran, Tehran will change its decision on the nuclear doctrine.
