Ukraine's surprise attack on Kursk humiliated the Russian army.
Axar.az reports that this was stated in the material published in "The Telegraph" publication.
It was reported that on August 6, at least 300 Ukrainian soldiers crossed the Russian border and attacked the Kursk region:
"Ukrainian troops quickly captured 350 square kilometers of Russian territory and captured dozens of Russians. In less than 48 hours, Ukraine captured more territory than the failed counteroffensive in the summer of 2023."
It is noted that Ukraine's attack in the direction of Kursk has three main goals: to distract Russian forces from operations in the Donetsk region; Sow discord within Russia and achieve territorial exchange during future negotiations.
Despite its initial momentum, Ukraine's advance at Kursk is likely to be short-lived, experts say:
"Western pressure will probably force Kyiv to change course. However, Ukraine's attack on Kursk showed that Russia had not learned any lessons from the Wagner group's lightning-quick capture of Rostov during the June 2023 uprising. Apart from alleged threats to destroy Ukraine and use tactical nuclear weapons, Russia failed to respond seriously to the Kursk offensive. With F-16s coming to the front line, Putin has a lot to worry about."
It should be noted that the Ukrainian army attacked the Kursk region on August 6 and captured 11 villages. Today, it is claimed that he captured the city of Suja.
