Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi conveyed the country's leader, Ali Khamenei's, message of complaint to him during his recent visit to Moscow and meeting with Vladimir Putin.

Axar.az reports citing foreign media.

"Ali Khamenei said in his message that Russia did not meet the expectations of the Islamic Republic during the 12-day war," the newspaper said.

The publication noted that Moscow's position in the Israeli-Iranian war did not suit an allied country: "At the beginning of the war, the Russians wanted the conflict to end, recognized Israel as an occupier, and condemned the Israeli attack. However, in general, their position was not so strong and did not turn out as Iran expected. Tehran expected the Russians to stand firmer on this issue, to express a tougher and more serious position, but this did not happen."

It should be noted that in January 2025, Iran and Russia signed a comprehensive strategic memorandum of understanding with the aim of strengthening long-term cooperation.
