Turkiye awaits Berlin's approval for Typhoon

The Turkish government expects a positive response from Berlin regarding the purchase of "Typhoon" (Eurofighter Typhoon) military aircraft.

Axar.az reports that the Ministry of Economy, which is responsible for arms export of Germany, answered the DPA agency's inquiry on the matter in the form of "The German government does not, in principle, comment on ongoing processes."

It was mentioned in the information that the Turkish government wants to buy 40 units of "Typhoon" military aircraft produced by the consortium formed by Germany, England, Italy and Spain. Since Germany is also involved in the production of these planes, the export procedure must be approved by the official Berlin. Turkiye has been waiting for approval from Germany since last year.

National Defense Minister Yashar Güler said in his earlier statement that Turkiye has received the approval of England and Spain on the matter.

It should be recalled that a few days ago, the "Shpigel" newspaper claimed that the federal government, which has been restricting the export of weapons to Turkiye for a long time, has made some changes in its policy regarding the export of weapons.
